Sound Detection / Microphone Module
—A sound detection module pairs an electret microphone with a comparator, giving both an analogue level and a digital output that triggers above a set loudness.
Specifications
- Electret microphone with amplifier
- Analogue level and digital threshold outputs
- Trimmer sets the trigger point
- 3.3-5V supply
- Indicator LEDs for power and trigger
What you can build with the Sound Detection / Microphone Module
- Clap-activated lights and switches
- Noise level monitoring
- Sound-reactive LED effects
- Detecting an alarm or doorbell sounding
Compatibility
Works with Arduino, ESP32 and Pico; a Raspberry Pi can use the digital output directly but needs an ADC for the analogue. This detects loudness only — for speech or frequency work use an I2S microphone such as the INMP441.
Shipping
Dispatched from New Zealand with courier delivery nationwide, including rural addresses. Prices are in New Zealand dollars.
